Faculty of Education Buildings

These represent the education and research base for the Faculty of Education. They are comprised of the Classroom Building, Natural Science Building, Central Building, Music-Arts-Performance Building, and Center for Education Research and Training Building. The rooftop observatory on the right side of the photograph has the reflecting telescope, which is one of the largest in scale (60cm) as a university facility.

Faculty of Economics Buildings

The buildings represent the center of learning for students in the Faculty of Economics. Some of the main structures include the Main Building housing the education labs, the Classroom Building, Economic Metrics Lab and Economics Lab. Housing the Faculty of Economics’ Career Design Office, the Main Building is where students can get support for finding a career and career path.

General Education Buildings

The General Education Building situated in the center of the campus includes the large lecture halls for general education courses for students in the early years of their programs of all faculties, as well as the Student Center that supports student life and the Job Search & Placement Material Center.

Athletic Field

The main feature is the 400-meter track in the center of which is a field that can be used for either rugby or soccer. The facilities are equipped with lights, allowing students to really enjoy their club activities after dusk. In addition to the athletic field, the campus also boasts other sports facilities such as a baseball field and tennis courts.

University Library

The library boasts a collection of some 700,000 Japanese and non-Japanese works that are completely and easily searchable via PC. In addition to a wealth of newspapers, magazines and journals, the library also offers a fine selection of AV materials including DVDs and satellite broadcasts. The library also features a collection of literature on the social participation and fairness of the mentally and physically handicapped along with valuable works including those in the Kishu Domain archives.

Faculty of Systems Engineering Buildings

As the research center for the various engineering domains, the Faculty of Systems Engineering Buildings are equipped with the most advanced research facilities in the university. On each floor in the glass exterior sections there are refreshment lounges, and the view from the top floor is particularly fantastic.

Gymnasium

The Gymnasium houses a number of facilities including an arena, martial arts hall and training room. It not only can accommodate physical education classes, but is also home to extra-curricular athletic teams. Needless to say, shouts, screams, and energetic voices can be heard on a daily basis.

Center for Information Science

The PC room is equipped with 200 PCs that can be freely used by students outside of class times.

University Hall

The University Hall runs a student cafeteria where students can eat in buffet or restaurant style. It also features other venues and facilities including shops and ATMs to provide the proper support needed for students to comfortably enjoy their time on campus. Make sure you try the bread and pastries sold by the bakery in the hall, which is popular with the students.

Integrated Research Building/KURIE

The facilities include the Student Center for Independent Research in the Sciences (KURIE), where students find time in between lectures to engage in independent exercises, as well as some of the newest research facilities such as the spaces set aside for campus-wide joint research and graduate student research efforts. Furthermore, the workshops are equipped with tools and machinery that allow for metal processing.
