In today's world, tourism is vitally linked with community regeneration. The Department of Community Regeneration boasts a curriculum allowing balanced studies of theory and practical application of tourism and urban development, all toward a goal of developing students into individuals able to develop tourism resources and work as community regeneration planners. The program is divided into basic and general education courses via which students learn about community-related issues, as well as introductory courses on economics and business management. The basic specialized courses allow students to study community regeneration management and regional administration theories among other topics in order to provide them with an introduction to the specialized fields. The department also places great importance on developing foreign language proficiency, as students acquire a global perspective in the courses of Tourism English and the State of Global Tourism. Toward the acquisition of specialized community regeneration management capabilities via the specialized core courses, students study with an interdisciplinary perspective including economics/business management, engineering (urban planning, architecture, disaster prevention), agriculture and forestry. They are also given the chance to improve their practical capabilities through fieldwork, case studies and internships.
