Department of Opto-Mechatronics

The Department of Opto-Mechatronics provides students with the opportunity to study interdisciplinary technologies featuring electronics, mechanics and optics. There are "opto-mechatronics" in many of the indispensable items which make our life enjoyable, such as DVD recorders, hard disk storage devices, digital cameras and cell phones.  Through lectures and experiments in wide areas including signal processing theory, sensor engineering and actuator control, all of which represent the elemental technology necessary to build the most advanced opto-mechatronics devices, the department provides a venue for its students to study and apply their knowledge practically in their undergraduate projects. This all allows for the development of engineers with the knowledge and skills in interdisciplinary technologies needed by industry.
