Synthetic Studies

Cultural Studies

The program is characterized by the diversified and complex study of culture beyond
any specific region or territory. It ascertains culture in terms of language, images and the physical body, as well as combines these elements in order to provide students with a
deeper understanding of a comprehensive view of society and culture in today’s world. It also focuses on themes that have not been covered very much in conventional cultural research, such as popular music, mass media, animation and minority cultures, and attempts to scientifically and academically analyze these areas.

Environmental Studies

The program considers the environment from the standpoint of sociology, history, geography and international relations as well as looks at regional nature via zoology, botany and geology. It considers the environment from a variety of different angles including one’s immediate lifestyle, the greater environment, agriculture, and forestry. Students are not only provided the opportunity to study the academics, but can engage in a complex research approach that, for example, incorporates geological and biological approaches in order to understand the systems in nature and impact of man’s activities on the global environment.
