A winter Courses of Japanese Culture Experience at Wakayama University
 
・Setsubun class
Date: January 28th (Thu) 10:30AM~12:00PM
Place: Cooking practice room at Faculty of Education Main building
Lecturer: Prof. Etsuko Higashi (Associate Professor), Ms. Rie Katata(staff member at IER)
 


We held Setsubun class for the first time.
The day of Setsubun being approaching, students listened to the lecture with enthusiasm.
After the lecture, we made Futomaki {Sushi Roll, called Ehomaki(Fortune Sushi Roll especially in Kansai area). }
They seemed to be pleased with their first Futomaki.
 
 
・Kimono class

Lecturer: Ms. Ikuko Sakaguchi

 

Students showed a delighted look on their face when they put on the kimono.
 
 
・Tea Ceremony class
Date: January 29th (Fri) 10:30AM~12:00PM
Place: University Hall
Lecturer: Ms.Yoko Moriwaki


 
Struggling to sit on the floor Japanese style, students made tea and served tea each other.
They seemed to realize the difficulty of making tea since they couldn’t create a fine froth.

Students enjoyed arranging flowers and their works reflected their personalities.
