Session on Skill Acquisition and Ubiquitous Human
Computer Interaction
<Session Number: IS06 Skill Acquisition and Ubiquitous Human
Computer Interaction>
[Session
Topics]
@This session will focus
on the intelligence
in skills and novel human computer interactions in the coming
ubiquitous era.
Knowledge and/or intelligence can be found
not only in the form of language but also they appear in behaviors and
skills of living creatures. With a motion capture system, ubiquitous
sensors, and other electronics devices, we can electronically observe
and record peoplefs motions.
The knowledge and skills elicited from
these should be useful especially when you learn skills of playing
sports, musical instruments and crafting things.
The topics of interest include but are
notlimited to:
1.
Method of observing behaviors and motions of human being and other
living creatures. This includes sensor devices/systems and algorithms.
2.
Intelligence
model in behaviors and
motions.
3.
Ubiquitous
system that can provide
novel human computer interaction, e.g. Q & A system.
[Paper
Submission]
Papers are invited for KES2008 on topics
lying within the scope of
the conference. All contributions must
be high quality, original, should not have been published elsewhere and
should not be intended to be published elsewhere during the review
period. Contributions from more applied related fields in industry and
commerce are very welcome.
The conference proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in
Lecture Notes in AI as part of the LNCS/LNAI series. When formatting papers, please
refer to the Springer-Verlag web site, and strictly follow the Instructions to LNCS Authors.
Please note that the required paper length is eight pages in Springer
format. Papers longer than this will be subject to a penalty charge.
Papers very much longer or shorter than the required length may be
rejected.
To ensure high quality, all papers will be thoroughly reviewed by the
conference Programme Committee. Papers may be rejected without being
sent to the reviewers if they are too long. Papers may be rejected
without being reviewed if it is judged that they do not lie
sufficiently within the scope of the conference.
The papers will be scheduled for presentation either orally or by
posters, depending on their attributes, author preferences and referee
recommendations. The presenter of each poster presentations will be
required to give a brief oral snapshot presentation in a scheduled
session in order to introduce the poster to the audience and will
conclude with personal communications between authors and attendants in
front of the poster. Posters are not a second choice presentation
medium. Rather, besides the regularly submitted paper, they must be
carefully designed to highlight in a very clear way the key points of
the research carried out by the authors.
All papers for KES2008 must be submitted in electronic form using the
PROSE software review system.
A link to the PROSE
Paper Submission and Login page will be placed here later.
All oral and poster papers must be presented by one of the authors who
must register for the conference and pay the fee. Authors are not
encouraged to submit multiple papers, and authors will be restricted to
one paper per registration.
Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication
in the KES Journal (International Journal of Knowledge-Based and
Intelligent Engineering Systems) published by IOS Press, see KES Journal
