[Conference presentation] The 13th UNWTO/PATA Forum on Tourism Trends and Outlook
The 13th UNWTO/PATA Forum on Tourism Trends and Outlook was held in Guilin, China between 17 and 19 October. The theme of this year’s forum was ‘Beyond gateways: Dispersal policies, capacity management, and rural tourism’. Globally hot topics such as destination management using big data and sustainable tourism development were covered in many sessions.
Prof. Joseph Cheer from Center for Tourism Research, Wakayama University presented a keynote titled as ‘Tourism in a time of rapid growth: Overtourism policy, planning and capacity management’.
