This study aims to examine how tourism education influences subsequent educational pathways and career development among graduates of tourism-related courses at commercial high schools in Okinawa Prefecture. In particular, it focuses on the transition to higher education (universities and vocational schools) from high school and explores both the continuity and the challenges of tourism education across educational stages.
In terms of research methods, a questionnaire survey will be conducted targeting individuals who have graduated from tourism-related courses of high school. In addition, semi-structured interviews will be carried out with students currently enrolled in universities and vocational schools. By combining quantitative and qualitative data, this study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between tourism education and career development.
