学部内公開講義「Future of AI Impact on Hospitality and Tourism: A European Perspective」を実施しました！

2026年6月1日（月）、学部内公開講義として「Future of AI Impact on Hospitality and Tourism: A European Perspective」を開催しました。本講義は、本学部准教授のHusna Zainal Abidin教員が担当する大学院専門職学位課程の授業科目「観光DX」の一環として実施されました。

講師には、オランダのHotelschool The Hagueより、技術革新を専門とするAlexander Lennart Schmidt教授をお迎えしました。講義では、観光・ホスピタリティ産業におけるAIの活用事例や最新動向、今後の可能性と課題について解説いただきました。特に、雇用、倫理、サステナビリティへの影響について理解を深める機会となりました。

講義後の質疑応答では、AIによる業務の自動化や雇用への影響、環境負荷などをテーマに活発な議論が行われ、学生たちも積極的に質問を行いました。本講義は、観光・ホスピタリティ産業におけるAIの未来について、ヨーロッパの視点から学ぶ貴重な機会となりました。

Special Lecture: “Future of AI Impact on Hospitality and Tourism: A European Perspective”

On June 1, 2026, an open faculty lecture entitled “Future of AI Impact on Hospitality and Tourism: A European Perspective” was held as part of the Tourism DX course taught by Dr. Husna Zainal Abidin.

The lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Alexander Lennart Schmidt of Hotelschool The Hague, the Netherlands, whose research focuses on technological innovation and disruptive business models in the hospitality industry. Professor Schmidt discussed current applications and emerging trends of artificial intelligence (AI) in tourism and hospitality, as well as the opportunities and challenges AI may bring to the industry. Key topics included the impact of AI on employment, ethics, and sustainability.

The lecture concluded with an active discussion session, during which students asked insightful questions about workforce transformation and the environmental implications of AI. The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn about the future of AI in tourism and hospitality from a European perspective.
