College of the Desert（アメリカ）との学生交流を実施しました！

2026年6月10日（水）、アメリカ・カリフォルニア州のCollege of the Desert（以下、COD）の学生8名と教職員2名が観光学部を訪問し、本学部生とともに講義を受講するとともに、学生間交流を行いました。

本交流は、CODと観光学部が継続的に連携して実施する「Leadership & Management in Hospitality Industry（ホスピタリティ産業におけるリーダーシップと経営）」の一環として実施されたものです。参加学生は来日前から約2カ月間、ヨランダ・ベンダー准教授のオンライン授業を合同で受講し、両国におけるホスピタリティに関する意見交換を重ねてきました。

COD学生の来訪時には、Husna Zainal Abidin准教授による「Tourism Development in Japan」の講義を受講したほか、Adam Doering教授担当の「Principles of Tourism C」の受講生らと、観光やホスピタリティをテーマに意見交換を行いました。

なお本プログラムは、観光学部 海外連携プログラム（Global Partnership Program, GPP）の一環として実施しています。

Tourism Faculty Hosts Student Exchange with College of the Desert

On June 10, 2026, eight students and two faculty/staff members from College of the Desert (COD), California, USA, visited the Faculty of Tourism at Wakayama University. During their visit, the COD students attended classes alongside Wakayama University students and participated in exchange activities.

This visit was part of the Leadership & Management in Hospitality Industry program, a collaborative initiative jointly conducted by COD and the Faculty of Tourism. Prior to their arrival in Japan, participating students from both institutions attended online classes together for approximately two months through a course taught by Associate Professor Yolanda Bender of COD, engaging in discussions on hospitality and related topics.

During their visit, the COD students attended Tourism Development in Japan, taught by Associate Professor Husna Zainal Abidin, and took part in discussions with students enrolled in Principles of Tourism C, taught by Professor Adam Doering. These sessions provided valuable opportunities for participants to exchange perspectives and share their learning experiences related to tourism and hospitality.

This program is implemented as part of the Faculty of Tourism’s Global Partnership Program (GPP).
